Understand. Question. Act.

Sustainability and Social Responsibility (SD&SR).

Understand the transitions. Develop critical thinking. Take action for tomorrow.

At EDC Paris Business School, we believe that higher education has an essential role to play in addressing today's major environmental, social and economic transitions.

Our approach to Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (SD&SR) is rooted in a simple conviction: to equip students with the knowledge and tools they need to understand sustainability challenges, embrace their complexity, develop critical thinking and integrate these considerations into their future careers.

Our ambition is to educate managers and entrepreneurs who can challenge existing models, make informed decisions and contribute to transforming organisations.

This vision is reflected in a comprehensive approach that brings together education, research, student engagement, inclusion and responsible campus practices.

Educating Students for a Sustainable Future.

Making responsibility an essential skill for tomorrow's managers.

At EDC Paris Business School, environmental, social and ethical considerations are progressively embedded across our academic programmes, extending beyond courses specifically dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Our objective is to ensure that every student develops a shared foundation of knowledge before exploring sustainability challenges in the context of their chosen career path.

A Common Foundation in Ecological Transition

Since the start of the 2026 academic year, EDC Paris Business School has introduced a common core curriculum in Ecological Transition for Sustainable Development (TEDS) for all first-year Bachelor and Master in Management (Grande École Programme) students, across both French- and English-taught tracks.

Developed with reference to educational resources provided by the Virtual University for Environment and Sustainable Development (UVED), this programme enables students to explore key environmental challenges and understand their connections with human and economic activities.

Terra: Connecting Sustainability with Professional Practice

In the fourth and fifth years of the Grande École Programme, the Terra Pathway integrates sustainability and social responsibility into each area of specialisation.

Whether in finance, marketing, management, entrepreneurship or supply chain management, students are encouraged to examine the transformations affecting their future professions and develop more responsible approaches to business.

This initiative builds on existing courses addressing climate change, business ethics, sustainable management, stakeholder management and social entrepreneurship.

Advancing Research with Impact.

Generating knowledge to understand and support sustainable business transformation.

Research plays a central role in EDC Paris Business School's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

Through its OCRE Research Lab, the School develops research addressing contemporary economic, environmental and societal challenges, while fostering connections between academic knowledge, business practices and education.

OCRE's research activities are structured around four main areas:

  • Entrepreneurship & Business Development

  • Consumption, Technology, Sustainability & Luxury Marketing

  • Financial Modeling & Business Ethics

  • Organizational Strategies & Operation Management

Sustainability and social responsibility are addressed across these research areas through themes such as sustainable entrepreneurial impact, sustainable marketing, business ethics and CSR, and sustainable management.

Over the three-year period reviewed, 208 academic publications ranked by ABS and/or FNEGE were recorded. According to the School's internal analysis, more than 43% of these publications can be linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

EDC Paris Business School also participates in Erasmus+ EcoLoop, a European project focused on circular economy and green entrepreneurship. The project supports the development of new skills, educational resources and learning tools designed to address sustainability challenges.

Through these initiatives, the School strengthens the connections between academic research, education and the transformation of professional practices.

Raising Awareness and Engaging Our Community.

Making sustainability a shared, practical and participatory experience.

Sustainability is not learned exclusively in the classroom. It also takes shape through experimentation, dialogue and everyday engagement.

EDC Paris Business School therefore develops awareness-raising initiatives designed to involve both students and staff.

Écogestes Digestes: One Month, One Action, One Impact

Organised from March to June 2026, the "Écogestes Digestes" campaign introduced a series of monthly challenges addressing four key themes:

  • Responsible digital practices;

  • Waste reduction;

  • Sustainable mobility;

  • Marine biodiversity conservation.

Designed to encourage accessible and meaningful behavioural changes, the first edition attracted 85 participants to its challenges and reached more than 110 students through awareness-raising events.

Experiential Learning to Inspire Action

EDC Paris Business School also promotes interactive learning experiences that encourage reflection and collective intelligence.

During a dedicated Sustainability and Social Responsibility Day, Bachelor and Grande École Programme students took part in two workshops:

The AI Battle (La Bataille de l'IA) explores the social and environmental impacts of generative artificial intelligence, encouraging students to reflect critically on the use of emerging technologies and the responsibilities associated with them.

The "Nudge Your Campus" Innovation Challenge invites students to design practical solutions that encourage more environmentally responsible behaviours on campus, particularly in relation to energy, water, mobility, food consumption and reuse.

These experiences reflect our commitment to placing students at the heart of both the discussion and the development of solutions.

Encouraging Student Engagement and Responsible Entrepreneurship.

Empowering students to turn ideas into impactful initiatives.

Student engagement and entrepreneurial spirit are integral to EDC Paris Business School's identity.

Through student associations, collaborative projects and entrepreneurial initiatives, students are encouraged to contribute to social, community and environmental causes.

Associations such as Réalités and Enactus play an important role in this dynamic by promoting solidarity, civic engagement and impact-driven entrepreneurship.

The School is also working to strengthen student participation in shaping its sustainability strategy. In 2026, a student-led project was dedicated to designing a long-term SD&SR engagement framework, including proposals for community mobilisation, governance and monitoring.

Entrepreneurship as a Driver of Positive Change

EDC Paris Business School encourages students to develop entrepreneurial projects that take economic, social and environmental considerations into account.

Since 2020, more than 60 entrepreneurial ventures have been launched with the support of the School's incubator.

By highlighting initiatives that generate social or environmental value, the School promotes an approach to entrepreneurship based on innovation, responsibility and sustainable value creation.

Fostering an Inclusive and Responsible Campus.

Embedding social responsibility into our everyday practices.

At EDC Paris Business School, sustainability and social responsibility encompass environmental stewardship, inclusion, equal opportunities and the well-being of our community.

Building a More Responsible Campus

The School promotes more responsible resource management and encourages sustainable practices in everyday campus life.

Current initiatives focus on energy and water efficiency, waste reduction and sorting, limiting paper consumption and raising awareness of environmentally responsible behaviours.

These efforts form part of a continuous improvement approach involving both staff and students.

Promoting Diversity and Equal Opportunities

Diversity, openness and respect for individuals are essential dimensions of our commitment to social responsibility.

EDC Paris Business School strives to foster an inclusive learning environment that respects differences and responds to individual needs.

This commitment is reflected in:

  • Dedicated support arrangements for students with disabilities;

  • Initiatives promoting student well-being and personal development;

  • Support for students experiencing personal, financial or social difficulties;

  • Partnerships with organisations such as StudHelp, which works to combat student poverty and financial hardship;

  • The promotion of equal opportunities, diversity and non-discrimination.

The School also places particular emphasis on welcoming and integrating international students, fostering an internationally oriented environment that encourages intercultural exchange and mutual understanding.

Embedding Sustainability into Our Strategy and Governance.

A collective, structured and long-term commitment.

Sustainability and social responsibility are integral to EDC Paris Business School's institutional strategy.

This commitment is embedded in the School's 2027–2031 Strategic Plan and supported by a Sustainability and Social Responsibility Strategic Framework, which sets out priorities, actions and monitoring mechanisms.

An Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability (ERS) Committee brings together representatives from the School's main departments, as well as student representatives. It contributes to overseeing commitments, monitoring initiatives and identifying opportunities for improvement.

This governance structure is complemented by the development of a network of 15 SD&SR ambassadors, bringing together students, faculty members and administrative staff.

International Commitments

EDC Paris Business School aligns its approach with leading international initiatives promoting responsible management education.

The School has been a member of the United Nations Global Compact since 2016, supporting its Ten Principles covering human rights, labour standards, environmental responsibility and anti-corruption.

EDC Paris Business School has also been engaged in the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative since 2018 and participates in the Steering Committee of the PRME France-Benelux Chapter.

These international commitments help align the School's activities with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and strengthen exchanges with higher education institutions committed to responsible management education worldwide.

A Commitment to Continuous Improvement

EDC Paris Business School continues to strengthen its sustainability approach, with the aim of progressively improving the integration, monitoring and evaluation of its SD&SR commitments.

This development is part of the School's ambition to pursue SD&SR labelling by 2028.

Our objective is to embed these commitments in the long term, communicate our progress transparently and engage our entire community around a shared vision.
