Delayed start

Delayed start

A new chance to enter a Grande Ecole business school without wasting a year!

Whether they're heading for the grandes écoles, university or other establishments, most students start their new academic year in September or October. But there are many reasons - a job, an extended internship or simply indecision - that can lead a student to postpone the start of the school year. This can also be the case for students who wish to change direction after their first term. In this case, the postponed start of the academic year is a real second chance to study without losing your year.

What is a delayed start, or rentrée décalée ?

The rentrée décalée is an opportunity offered by many business schools, including EDC Paris Business School, to enter a program outside the traditional academic calendar. In concrete terms, it enables students to start a course in January or February, without having to wait for the following academic year in September.

This system is mainly aimed at students who wish to reorient themselves after starting the year in another course, or who, for personal or professional reasons, have not been able to start their studies at the usual time. The "rentrée décalée" offers them the precious opportunity to enter a new course without losing a year.

The programs offered during the "rentrée décalée" are often intensified to make up for the months that have passed, while retaining the same content and requirements as the classic "rentrée". Students benefit from reinforced supervision and adapted teaching methods to ensure their success.

Choosing a staggered start to the academic year also means showing determination, a much-appreciated quality that you shouldn't hesitate to put forward when applying to a school!

Why choose a deferred start date?

Opting for a deferred start date in programmes such as the Bachelor's or Grande École Programme offers many advantages, especially for those looking to redefine their career path without losing a year. At EDC Paris Business School, this option is designed to meet the needs of students seeking flexibility and a quick solution to resume their studies or change direction.

The deferred start date is particularly attractive for students who have started another course but wish to switch to a business school, or for those who, after a break, wish to enrol in a stimulating and professionalising course. It provides access to programmes of excellence, such as those offered by EDC Paris Business School, while benefiting from a tailored pace and enhanced educational support.

Choosing a deferred start date also provides an opportunity to quickly adapt to a new academic environment, while benefiting from the same course content as the traditional start date. This demonstrates an ability to adapt and a willingness to take action, which are major assets in a competitive sector such as management.
